We are looking for a project scientist (MSc in genetics, or equivalent) to join our “Whole genome histocompatibility” project, in which we look for novel genetic factors and tools to predict complications of transplantations (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, kidney and liver transplantation) and study the role of HLA genes in various diseases.
The research group currently consists of four PhD level scientists and two PhD students, plus the PI. (See e.g. Ritari et al Leukemia 2018, Ritari et al Front Immunology 2019, Hyvärinen et al Scientific Reports 2018 or McCarroll et al Nature Genet 2009, for more details of our previous studies).
The studies are done in collaboration with clinicians and other scientists.
The first period would be till January 2022, starting immediately, and the project may be continued as a PhD project, in which skills in genetic data analysis and optionally in molecular cell biology and open mind are necessary.
The research group is located in Biomedicum Helsinki 1.
